Final commercial




In the filming of the commercial I was involved with the acting with Alex while Jazmin was recording me and Alex when we were acting. There was only one part where Jazmin didn’t film which was when Alex did the tracking shot which I assisted him with by pushing him on a chair while he was recording. Other then that  Jazmin did all the filming, then when the editing came around Alex did all the major editing by putting the clips together and I then helped with putting music slips in and doing the final piece check.

Treatment

Treatment is a technique used to create an effect/mood. The ways that this would happen would be to use these elements editing, lighting, genre, sound camera, style of acting, tone and actors/actresses. All these would help get the right mood and the treatment would be good when you find the right thing for each of these elements.

Planning

We planned to make an advert because this was the best way to show our product as good as it can be, this would be the best way to do it because usually people that own a home would have a television which they watch, so they would be able to see the advert and get persuaded by the advert and buy the product which is chest of draws. 

Target audience

My target audience will be anyone  that could purchase a chest of draws which they would need for storage. So my advert is aimed at everyone because everyone can watch it and decide if they want to purchase it or not. The way we found out are target audience was that I used a target market profile which helps me find my target audience with the elements of age, gender, ethnicity, ability, sexuality, class and religion. These elements would help me find my target audience, for looking through these I have finalised that my target audience can be anyone who wants to buy a chest of draws which makes my product a mass product.

On this day Alex went to the T3 and did the editing because he was the only one free to do it.
It was only Alex doing the editing.
Alex did it on Tuesday 22nd during one of his free periods.
He did it because he was free but we made editing for the advert so that we could make the advert as perfect as possible which we did and it makes the advert look more professional with editing of it.
The way Alex did it was he got the camera and transferred the video clips onto the Mac in the T3 and he did all the editing he needed to do to make the video as good as he can which happened and we then finished there. 

We didn't do anything else during the week for filming and editing after that so we did other pieces of work that needed to be done.

The things we did during this time period was we went to our location which was outside the tech room and we recorded our clips that we needed for our advert.
The people that were there when recording was- Jazmin who recorded the clips. Then me and Alex who were the actors for the advert.
We did the recording after school on the date on May 28th because that was the day we wrote down to do the filming.
We recorded it on this day because it was the day that was free and also everyone that was in our group was free on this day.
We did this by getting a HD camera and tripod that was provided to us and we went to the tech room and recorded the clips that we needed for our advert and we did all the recording using the camera and tripod.

Location Recce



In a recce it shows an evaluation of how a location is good enough or not that to use for filming. So a recce is important for me and my group to find the right location to use and the recce I wrote out is the recce for the 6th form centre. In my recce it says its got large amount of space however it has the disruption of the students and also has lights and computers which could be a hazard. So overall a recce will show the good and bad things about a location.

Agenda
What storyboard we were going to use for our advert.

Goals
We were trying to conclude what storyboard we were going to use for our advert.

Outcomes
We had the meeting to decide what storyboard we were going to use, at first we were going to use parts of each storyboard made by each of us but decided that would have taken longer to do. We then decided in just choosing my one because the fact mine was easier to read and know what camera shots were needed and also the angles.

When we had this meeting it occurred for 15 minutes and when we were having the meeting there was things that we said while talking about what was going to happen.
The main things that were said were in the first 5 minutes we were talking about the shots that we were going to use and the angles and Jazmin decided the shots. Me and Alex then said that we would draw and Jazmin also said she would. We then drew all the storyboards and finally in the last decision we all said that we were going to go with my storyboard because it was the most accurate with the shots and angles and that was the end of the meeting.

Goals
To pick the right script for us.

Outcomes
We chose the script from out three drafted scripts and in my blog you will be able to see the final of the script which shows who wrote what in each section with a key. This was the best way because the three drafts had good parts so we took the good part and put them together to make a better script overall.





Contingency Plans

These are the plans that we will do if something happens for example in these cases.

If the weather is either raining or snowing but wouldn't effect us majorly because we are filming inside but the sound effects could be effected by this.

If someone is ill we would have to do an alternative things such as we would have to carry on when they recover or we would have to change and replace the person if ill for along time.
Jazmin- Then we would have to find another person to record me and Alex while filming.
Alex or Me- Then we would have to find another person to film with people we are the actors of the filming.
If the equipment breaks then we would have to fins more equipment or fix the equipment to use it. These are some situations we could get into because they are just things which could occur when we are filming.

If the location was not able to be able to film on because maybe building works and all that sort of things which would prevent us being able to use the premise for some reason. There are other places we could have used such as the 6th form centre but there is a recce which says why I wasn't going to pick it.

Storyboard


 This picture shows the first two shots of the storyboard which is the introduction of the product.
 This is a picture on the right of the following two shots which is continuing from the previous two shots which shows a tracking shot from left to right and then an other tracking shot from right to left.
 The picture then shows the next following two shots which shows me and Alex walking into the department and find the product and start talking about it.
The next two pictures are the following four shot which shows me and Alex saying our lines in the commercial which then follows by Alex buying the product and me shaking my head.

Script for Advert


Visuals

Start out with a faded close-up of the desk, and then slowly zooming outwards revealing the product and pausing for a brief second to let us get a decent view of the product.
 Then we will have a smooth tracking shot going up to the right slowly and then again just to the left.





We will fade to white and we will then have Alex and Yusuf talking about the product and how it is amazing etc.



Then Alex is shown happy with his product that he has purchased. Yusuf would then walk past shaking his head.

Risk Assessment sheets




The hazards that didn't happen when we were doing the filming were handling toxic materials, using sharp/electrical equipment, personal safety when interviewing and wearing inappropriate which are the things that didn't happen or weren't even in consideration of happening. The hazard that happened was me and Alex had to carry the product which we lifted the product ergonomically. Nothing went wrong when we were filming because there was no hazards.

Working title - Snapple

Working title - Snapple



We chose the name of 'snappy' because it is a very unique and original which will make people remember the name which is good for the publicity and this would be good for the advertising side as well because if the name is unique and memorable then they will be able to get the public to remember this and get used to the brand.

Describing our chosen product.

We chose for our product was an abstract side table which contained draws as well. This was made by Steve Mclean and the materials he used to make his product was MDF wood and he then sprayed it in white and added metal handles to finish it off. This is well made and is eye-catching due to it being unique and also unusual which catches the public eyes.


Ideas for locations

We have three ideas for location of our advertisement..

The first location that I am going to talk about is the open area outside the 6th form and main hall, this is a good location because of the amount of space that is available and also the amount of light that is available. Unfortunately we wouldn’t be able to use this space at lunch because of the students that would be around that area would prevent filming. The fact that the location is outside so I can’t control the weather so it could be really sunny or it could rain which would cause delay on filming.


The tech department was another location we had in consideration and this would a good location because of the space we had available and that how many windows that were there weren't too much to distract us etc. That because the product we were going to use in our advert was already in the tech department so we didn't have to use any transport to take and use the product for the advert. The negative thing about this was that because there wasn't any blinds for the windows, we wouldn't be able to control the light that could peak through the window. The fact that people were also going to have lesson in that area, this means we wouldn't be able to film whenever, just when the area was free.

The other location we looked at was the 6th form centre because we feel that its a nice place for space because it is meant to be big to for all the students in the 6th form in it so that they don't have to be in their squashed to each other. We thought that because the only time we would only would be free during break lunch we wouldn't be able to finish the tasks etc because there would be students around the area and no room to record. The health and safety wouldn't be safe  either because of the amount of people being there and the computers could cause  injuries and also cause people to have to be extra careful just in case of anything happening.
